Many of us converse on the future of the civil society in Armenia, work to strengthen the sphere, initiate projects in the name of development, but few of us know those who happened to be the founders of the civil society in Armenia and whose enthusiastic work derived the roots of civil culture in Armenia. Among those pioneers is Karen Asatryan, the Founding President of the Armenian UN Association.
Since early 90s Karen Asatryan was one of the brilliant leaders of the civil sphere in Armenia. His enthusiastic and devout work was dedicated to the formulation and development of the civil society in our country. Read more

Youth Training on Civic Engagement 

July 2-8, 2018, Georgia

 

United Nations Association of Georgia is soliciting applications for Youth Training on Civic Engagement to be held on July 2-8, 2018 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event is intended to provide theory and practical skills on civic activism and the issues related to equality and non-discrimination. The event will offer training courses tailored by experienced trainers and sessions on planning follow-up activities. 

Selected participants will be required to take part in all sessions of the training and, as a follow-up, conduct relevant activities/campaigns within their countries/communities, with the support from the United Nations Association of Georgia. 

United Nations Association of Georgia will reimburse ground transportation expenses and will provide participants with accommodation and meals. Young people between the ages of 18-26 with demonstrated interest and experience in civic activism should apply. Fluency in English is required. Applications must be received by June 18, 2018. 

The event is organized in frames of the program “Fostering Inclusive Democracy”, jointly implemented by the United Nations Association of Georgia, United Nations Association of Armenia and the United Nations Association of Sweden, with the financial support from Forum Syd/SIDA.
